Aidan Kraftzenk
Game Developer / Programmer
I've been building games on Roblox since fifth grade, now over
twelve years ago, starting with shooters and gradually taking on more
complex systems across team and solo projects. Over that time I became
deeply embedded in the Roblox development community, regularly helping
others debug and learn on the forums and through the RTC, which
sharpened both my technical instincts and my ability to communicate
clearly about code. My most significant work to date is a contract role
on
Heroes of Robloxia 2, where I architected a versatile enemy AI system built on a
state-machine/behavior-tree hybrid, along with weapon systems and a
custom 3D particle system. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Software
Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from MSOE, and while Lua is the
language I know most deeply, the software engineering principles I
studied in college (architecture, clean code, and rigorous
problem-solving) show clearly in how I approach my Roblox work. I'm
someone who has always learned by doing, and I'm as comfortable
diving into creating a new system from scratch as I am jumping into an
existing codebase.
By the way, props to you for reading the history of this repo! I hope to
work with you soon!
Note: most of the work shown here dates from high school, over four years ago. My technical abilities have grown significantly since then through formal Software Engineering study at MSOE. Additionally, my most recent and substantial work has been on Heroes of Robloxia 2.
An inventory UI I made using Parts + SurfaceGuis.
A building system for a small solo project where you could set up shop at a mall to sell + market Roblox clothing.
A quick attempt at a “Paint the Town Red” clone.
An FPS system I created that handles procedural movement animations, recoil, reloading, and hit-detection.
A snippet of gameplay from my solo project “Mine Game”.
This game is a good showcase of what I can do. It was programmed by me entirely without any use of AI. This includes: Creating and designing all game systems, including procedural track generation, vehicle interpolation, mining, storage systems; Designing and programming all UI; and building each level by hand.
